ST PAUL, MN, SEPTEMBER 17, 2007 Holton House Audio is a new, St. Paul based recording company that specializes in audio books. The company began when veteran producers Alan Stone and Scott Thomsen recognized the need for more affordable audio book production in the Twin Cities.
The company is unique in that it is able to produce high quality audio books for all types of publishers and authors, including many who previously couldn’t afford them. “The production groups that service the major book companies are very expensive,” said Thomsen. “Our business model allows us to match their talent and beat their prices.”
Thomsen says the company’s price advantage comes from its relationship with a select group of skilled narrators, producers and engineers who work collaboratively, resulting in significantly lower production costs. After completion, the company helps clients find manufacturing services and digital distribution networks.
Audio books are the fastest growing segment of the publishing field. According to the Audio Publishers Association, audio books represent more than ten percent of all book sales, with sales increasing every year.
