New Therapy Offers Hope for Herniated Disc Sufferers

Released on: September 29, 2008, 11:54 am

Press Release Author: Dr. Arnie Wynn / Spine Doctors Chiropractic

Industry: Healthcare

Press Release Summary: (Arlington, Virginia) --- Spine Doctors Chiropractic Center
has formed a new specialized division offering Triton DTS Spinal Decompression
Therapy to Northern Virginia residents suffering from disc herniations. The new
entity, Spinal Decompression, will market and focus on this new “state of the art”
therapy

Press Release Body: Triton DTS Spinal Decompression Therapy is FDA cleared and has
been clinically proven for pain associated with herniated or bulging discs even
after failed surgery. It is a non-surgical, computerized traction therapy for the
relief of back and leg pain or neck and arm pain.During the procedure, by cycling
through distraction and relaxation phases and by proper positioning, a spinal disc
can be isolated and placed under negative pressure, causing a vacuum effect within
it. The vacuum effect allows the disc component- that has protruded or herniated
outside the normal confines of the disc - to be pulled back within the disc.
Dr. Arnie Wynn, president of Spine Doctors Decompression Center said, “The most
exciting aspect about Triton DTS Spinal Decompression Therapy is the clinical
studies that document its efficacy. One study reported the reduction of disc
herniations – up to 90% documented by MRI – in the majority of cases and another
study reported that the majority of ruptured disc patients achieved ‘good’ to
‘excellent’ results after spinal decompression therapy.”
Dr. Wynn also stressed the difference between regular traction and Spinal
Decompression Therapy. “The Triton DTS computer is the key. It controls the
variations in the traction pull allowing for spinal decompression that eliminates
muscle guarding that is typical in conventional traction devices. The preprogrammed
patterns for ramping up and down the amount of axial distraction allows for higher
levels of spinal decompression and disc rehydration.”
Dr. Wynn adds, “We chose the Triton DTS system after a significant amount of
research. With its unparalleled design and proven history, the DTS system is the
‘gold standard’ in decompressive traction therapy. We also selected this system
because it can treat discs in both the neck and the low back.”
