DirectRooms.com reports that a comprehensive range of education institutes from America and Canada will be setting up at a fair in Kaohsiung to give Taiwanese students an insight into studying abroad.

The American International Education Foundation (AIEF) is organising the fair which will be an opportunity for students to meet with representatives from schools, colleges and universities to learn about facilities and potentially enrol on forthcoming courses.

Although organised by the American foundation with a strong American bias, the event will also have a pavilion dedicated to Canadian schools and students will be able to compare the benefits of studying in each country.

As well as finding out about educational matters such as course structure, hours and college life, students can also get advice on visa requirements from each country and what’s needed going through the application process.

The number of Taiwanese students that go to study in the States rises each year with 2008 seeing more than 19,000 students arriving from Taiwan, while 2009 saw over 28,000. The exhibition will be running at one of the largest hotels in Kaohsiung to give as many students as possible a chance to attend when it takes place on 26th September 2011.

Lek Boonlert, marketing head at DirectRooms.com commented: “Students and parents from around the area will be travelling into the city to meet with the overseas teachers. Hotels will be getting booked up by those attending and reservation should be made at the earliest opportunity.”
