DirectRooms.com – New Research Into Cancer Treatment Is Revealed In Granada From 3 To 5 October 2011

Between 3rd and 5th October 2011, Cancer Immune Escape: Implications for Immunotherapy will focus on what makes cancer so particularly resistant to different types of treatment. This will involve looking into the attributes of the cells and the mechanisms that cancer uses to avoid the immune system. Recent studies in the last ten years have greatly improved biologists’ understanding of tumors and new possibilities have concentrated on using T cells which can specifically target and remove tumor cells. Cancer however is still largely unaffected by treatments and the symposium aims to lead further investigations into how this can be reversed. Cancer immune escape relates to the ways in which the disease gets round the body’s immune system. By delving into the mechanisms of how this is done, attendees then hope to make a step forward into finding a cure. Subject areas will include anti-tumor immunity, tumor immune escape mechanisms and the antigens associated with tumors. The conference is being staged in Dilar not far from Granada, in the Zerbinetta Hotel and as this is a conference featuring international delegates, places at a Granada City Centre hotel are set to be in short supply.
