DirectRooms.com – Join The 27th Abbey Dash Coming To Leeds In November 2011

The Leeds Abbey Dash is an established and popular fun run which takes place over 10 kilometres of flat roads and tracks around the Leeds area, with runners being sponsored to raise money for Age UK, a major British charity which cares for the elderly.

This year's run takes place on November 20 and organisers are hoping to see an increase on the 8,000 or so participants who ran the Leeds Abbey Dash last year. This year marks the first year ever that junior runners will be able to take place alongside their adult counterparts, with a 2 kilometre fun run on offer for kids.

The choice of hotel Leeds City Centre has available will likely be reduced with so many runners in town, leading online hotel room comparator DirectRooms.com to advise advance booking. Hotels close to the Leeds Town Hall finishing line are expected to be in particularly high demand.

There will be a number of corporate teams taking part in this year's run all seeking to raise money for Age UK, and individual runners should be aware that the run fee itself is £17.50 per person.

Lek Boonlert, marketing head of hotel room website DirectRooms.com, says, “This is set to be a hugely well attended run and as such we advise people to book their places to stay well before November 20th. Arriving in town without a hotel room pre-booked could be a recipe for disappointment.”
